Tour de Fort to celebrate FLC's second year atop the collegiate cycling rankings

Fort Lewis College Cycling is the top ranked team in the nation for the second year in a row. To celebrate, all Skyhawks and Skyhawk fans are invited to participate in the Tour de Fort, a bicycle parade around campus, on Thursday, September 8, 2011. The Tour de Fort begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Student Union Plaza.

Men's lacrosse attracts players nationwide

Lacrosse may be just catching on in many places in the West, but it already has long and successful roots here on the Fort Lewis campus. And as a Club Sport, anyone looking to give it a try can join in the fun and challenge of FLC Men's LAX.
Men's Lacrosse is the second longest running Club Sport at Fort Lewis, behind only the Ski Team, dating back more than 25 years.

Hunter to become new director of athletics at Fort Lewis College

Gary Hunter will become Fort Lewis College’s new director of athletics, FLC President Dene Kay Thomas announced today. Hunter will officially begin September 1, 2011.
Hunter has been on campus for several weeks acting as a consultant to the Fort Lewis College Athletic Department. He has been working closely with athletic staff and coaches in preparation for the upcoming season.

FLC's Tom Danielson finishes 9th in 2011 Tour de France

One of Fort Lewis College’s own, Tom Danielson, placed ninth in the world’s biggest bike race, the Tour de France, over the weekend. Tom, who rode for Team Garmin-Cervelo, placed 8 minutes, 15 seconds behind race winner Cadel Evans. His finish was the highest finish by an American rider.
